Daniel Owen
R&D Leader, Specialty Flooring
As R&D Leader of flooring systems at ICP Construction, Daniel Owen oversees product development. Daniel brings a unique perspective to the helm, having worked in nearly every department and position within the company. His parents, Dean and Carol Owen, founded Arizona Polymer Flooring in 1985. They exposed him to the industry at an early age, and he flourished through the years.
Daniel started his career at APF in the production department in 1992, performing general labor and quality control. He also served as a chemical processor and pigmenter as the company grew and refined its product lines. On the side, he worked as a concrete coating subcontractor, acquiring a deeper understanding of raw materials and chemistries used in the industry.
He transitioned into technical sales and contractor training at APF four years later, where he gained invaluable knowledge of the challenges contractors face and the solutions required to meet their needs. He also started playing a critical role in the formulation of new products during this time.
In 2006, Daniel was promoted to vice president of APF. In this position, he implemented new business systems and procedures, production practices, customer service practices, environmental initiatives and was intimately involved in the formulation and developomen of some of APF's most popular product lines – all of which contributed to APF’s most significant growth phase to date and positioned the company as an emerging industry leader nationwide.
APF was acquired by ICP Construction in early 2018 and Daniel is now focused on bringing additional value to long-term customer relationships, business development, spearheading new product development and overall management of the flooring brands under ICP Construction.
Daniel resides in the Central Phoenix area with his wife, Leane, and their three boys. In his spare time, he enjoys weightlifting, concerts, dining out and following the Arizona Cardinals.
